This book is all about Precious Ramotswe and her journey to make a successful detective agency. In the first couple of chapters it jumps around. It goes from her starting the agency and how she got the money to her history to a story about a crippled little boy. But it all wrapped together very nicely. You get to see her first five or so cases, and her love life. She had a very hard life. With no mother and going back and forth between her cousin and father. Then she falls for a not so nice guy. Her baby dies and her husband leaves her so she is not so excited about the idea of love again. But one of the guys in her life wiggles his way under her radar, and they end up together which delighted me to no end.
I liked this book very much. I am very happy that I got to read it. I sympathized with Mma and her earlier life. I think that the things that we have been through make us who we are. So the things she went through made her a strong, independent women. I liked her ambition, and thought it was cool how she opened the first ladies detective agency even though some people thought it was silly. I was socked that a father would ask her to trail his daughter to see if she was going out with boys, and I thought the name Jack was a little suspicious. I am glad that she found the boy and had to chuckle at how she left the women there after she had the boy. I was overjoyed that she said yes to the guy at the end. All in all I thought this was a very good book and would happily recommend it to anyone.
